Dalaman is situated in the Mugla Province in the west of Turkey. It is an area of natural beauty lying between the mountains and the sea. As a developing tourist region it is a quiet and peaceful spot having great swathes of gold and white sands, warm seas and guaranteed sunshine. Turkey's first Hilton resort hotel will open in Mugla's Dalaman district toward the end of 2009 with a 100-million euro investment Hilton Hotels Corporation the world-renowned U.S.-based international chain of full service hotels and resorts, signed a franchise agreement with Göçay Tourism for the construction of Hilton Dalaman Golf Resort  Spa.The resort hotel will be located in Dalaman's Sarimerge beach and will be comprised of a total of 384 rooms, 52 of which are suites. The resort hotel, which has its own beach and its own quay, will also encompass a 3,000-square-meter house club, a spa and an 18-hole golf course. The company is undertaking the administration of 10 resort hotels in the United States and 33 resort hotels throughout the world. Meanwhile, Göçay Group, which was established in 1979, is undertaking projects to construct airports, bridges, highways, tunnels and dams Hilton has proved itself throughout the construction of various hotels in Turkey over the last 50 years, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president of Hilton Hotels Europe. "Hilton Dalaman Golf Resort  Spa is a wonderful agreement. We are pleased to realize our first resort hotel investment in Turkey," Neumann said. "Our company plans to increase our investments three-fold in this strategic market within five years, and this investment is extremely exciting for our company in this respect," he added. Dalaman is considered one of the most significant tourism centers of Turkey – especially for vacations and golfing – due to the popularity of the region and the increase in the number of tourists who prefer to spend their holidays in the area, said Neumann. However, the region lags behind in terms of high quality international hotels, said Neumann, adding that Hilton Dalaman Resort Hotel will meet the expectations of domestic and foreign tourism.Taken from The Turkish Daily News.
